Painting Materials
Prior to departure your painting teacher will supply you with a list of painting materials you will need for the course. A sample list of materials need for one of our painting holidays can be seen below:

5 ml tubes of good quality watercolour* in the following colours:
Cerulean blue
Ultramarine blue
Cadmium Yellow
Lemon Yellow
Alizarin Crimson
Cadmium Red
Raw Sienna or yellow ochre
Burnt Sienna
Viridian and Permanent Rose (optional extras)
a tube of white gouache paint
*We recommend Windsor & Newton
Brushes (can be nylon or sable)
2 Medium round ended brushes size 10 or 12
2 Small round ended brush size 3 or 4
1 small flat brush
large flat brush (1" or more) for washes
Paper
A3 pad of good quality medium rough Watercolour paper (at least 200g in weight) Saunders of Waterford are recommended makes
Another smaller sketch pad of good quality cartridge paper (A5)
You will also need
A good-sized plastic mixing palette
a generous container for water,(chopped off plastic water bottle will do)
and an empty water bottle for transporting clean water.
a small sponge (natural is best)
a bottle of masking fluid and an old brush for application
a roll of masking tape
a 2B drawing pencil and soft rubber
some kitchen towel
A good size shoulder back/rucksack to put a portable painting kit in!
A good hat and sun screen
Suitable footwear for walking/painting
